Greg Blatt’s Telluride Adventure

The obsession with productivity has significantly reduced the spirit of adventure in the current generation. Some of the beautiful destinations, such as the San Juan Mountains in Colorado town, are places that many would love.

For instance, Greg Blatt is a technology expert, who spent some time at Telluride after his graduation. Besides, he traveled to Reims, Budapest, California, and San Francisco to figure his next step in life. Greg loved Telluride; thus, he spent his time in the town exploring its activities.

After his successful application to Columbia Law School, Greg left Telluride for New York. On completion of his doctor of law, he began serving Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia as general counsel. Afterward, he served in IAC’s dating sites. Greg attributes his worldview to the short reflection time at Telluride town, a venture he recommends to all young people. Interestingly, after pursuing his career for more than 30 years, Greg returned to Box Canyon.

Telluride town’s history is based on mining. The name originates from a non-metallic element called tellurium that is associated with silver and gold deposits. The miners had to make a menacing journey to reach the town, hence the phrase, “to-hell-you-ride.” For more than a century, the town has been a center of many activities. For instance, the Ames Power Plant was built in the town to supply to the mines. The mining activities made the town wealthy till the 1960’s when the mining industry began falling.

Telluride underwent a significant change after the second world war. The growing American economy needed many workers, hence eliminating leisure time. Although recognized as a National Historic Landmark, it has many lessons that one can learn. Now Telluride is a perfect place for hiking, skiing, and learning. According to Blatt, the town wakes imagination.

Greg has made significant contributions to the technology industry. The former CEO of Match Group, IAC, and Tinder, pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Colgate University before joining Columbia Law School. Afterward, Blatt served as Associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz and Grubman Indursky & Schindler PC. Before being promoted to the position of chief executive officer, Greg served IAC as the executive vice president in General counsel.
