Wes Edens Makes Deal That Will Boost Sri Lanka’s Long Term Economic Security

Wes Edens is the founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman for one of the premier energy companies in the world. His company is the New York based natural gas conglomerate New Fortress Energy. The company has been in business for over twenty years. It has been an essential part of upgrading many smaller countries’ natural gas and energy systems.

One of the most recent projects that Wes Edens and New Fortress Energy has been working on is a proposal to build a new facility that will serve the people of Sri Lanka. The new facility will be located off the shore near the city of Colombo. It will be able to receive the natural gas, store it, and convert it for the electrical power companies that it will serve. It will be the first facility of this kind to be located in Sri Lanka. Construction of the facility will begin sometime in the later part of 2022.

Sri Lanka is a relatively small country that has only had its independence from England for less than 75 years. This project will help modernize their energy production. It will also help boost the country’s economic stability. This boost in economic stability will be in the form of many jobs throughout the project and after completion.

The project has been making headlines for quite some time now. Wes Edens has stated on multiple occasions that New Fortress Energy and the Sri Lankan government are working on several other proposals as well. These proposals include additional construction projects to modernize the power systems in the country. There is also a proposed deal that would allow New Fortress Energy to purchase a forty percent share in the ownership of the country’s Yugadanavi Power Plant. These ownership shares are currently under the control of the country’s government.
